About DitToy
Good toys and games for every age, sorted by the skills they build and keep sharp. Picked one by one in Tripoli.
It started with a question
“Where can I find that game?” Parents at Aiding Hands Polyclinic asked it all the time, along with a harder one: “How do I know which toy is right for my child?” A name scribbled on a piece of paper was never a good enough answer. So we built a shop where every toy has already been looked at closely, and where you start from the skill you want to work on rather than from a wall of boxes. It soon became clear the shop was not only for children: focus, planning and steady hands are worth building at two and worth keeping sharp at seventy.
Chosen by Amanda Elhage
Amanda, founder of Aiding Hands Polyclinic, looks past the bright colours on the box to what a toy really asks of whoever plays it: steady fingers, a plan, patience, a quick reaction, a little imagination. Each of those gets a score from 1 to 10, so you can tell at a glance what a toy is good for.
The right toy in a minute
Pick a skill, and the toys that build it most come first. It works just as well for a gift: no guessing what a seven-year-old, a teenager or a grandparent might enjoy, just a short list of good choices.
Just toys, the good kind
Everything here is an everyday toy, made for rainy afternoons, family evenings and birthday wrapping paper. The scores are there to help you choose, nothing more.
